Demonstrating Mastery Paper Instructions
Write a minimum 2500-word paper that synthesizes program artifacts, experiences, and feedback to apply concepts you learned in order to demonstrate mastery of OBLD Program Outcomes (see Attachment 2.).
Demonstrate your understanding of the concepts related to the program outcomes, NOT practical mastery of these topics.
For example, to demonstrate mastery of core leadership concepts such as communication, ethics, diversity, and inclusion, you might start by listing topics that were covered in your coursework. You might cite evidence from course artifacts, scholarly sources, instructor feedback, and peer comments. We are not looking for you to explain how you have developed those knowledge, competencies, skills, and behaviors, although you may share anecdotes to illustrate your understanding of concepts.
Per APA guidelines, unpublished work should be cited as personal communication with no corresponding reference entry. Please identify the course, activity, and role of the person you are citing. For example, to establish critical thinking as a foundational leadership concept you might write:
Professor Watkins stated in feedback to Activity A500.5.3.GA System of Thinking that critical thinking cannot be separated from competent thinking about leadership (D. Watkins, personal communication, August 11, 2021).
Note: OBLD Activities all include the course, activity number, and brief descriptor.
If the assignment is not clear, please contact your instructor for clarification.
