Structure and writing style, presentation (4 marks)

1. Clarity of writing:

• Clear, precise language is used

• Direct quotations are used sparingly
• The essay is easy to follow with clear transitions

3. APA style

• Author’s name and date of publication are given in the text of essay – where others’ ideas, or research findings are mentioned and these are appropriately reworded/paraphrased

• There is a reference list
• Quotes are acknowledged with author, date, page numbers

4. The essay is checked for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors

5. Word limit is adhered to (1,575 words, which includes the 5% leeway and excludes the reference list).
