LESSON 7 – ASSIGNMENT
1. Note the methods of filing used in the location where you work. If you are unable to do this, talk to
friends who work with filing systems. List the methods.
2. Based on the third set task, list the equipment. Indicate how each one stores information (dot point or
1-2 sentences) and what kind of information they can store.
3. Establish a folio of paper sizes, types and colours, envelope types, sizes and colours. The folio should
contain five paper types and five different envelopes with sizes noted on each item. Submit the folio of
stationery (if you are emailing, you might prefer to take pictures of each item and send those in). Explain
(dot points or 1-2 sentences) paper specifications (eg. sheet paper, envelopes, etc).
4. Based on your first and second set tasks, suggest ways to improve either the way that space is
organised, or to improve processes to reduce unnecessary movement. If possible, discuss your
suggested changes with people who currently use that office, to get their perspective. If you cannot, then
do the assignment by yourself. Write between 200 and 500 words and submit a second diagram, showing
the new office layout with physical flowchart. Submit with the original floor plan and physical flow chart
you completed in your set task.
5. Design a work schedule suitable for a specific workplace. This can be any workplace you choose.
Specify what kind of workplace you have chosen. Submit your work schedule in the table format used in
your lesson notes.
