Rett syndrome | Nursing homework help

Rett syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the brain development of girls. It is caused by gene mutation, and it is rarely inherited. The disorder leads to body impairment hence affecting several aspects of the child’s life, including their ability to eat, breathe normally, speak, and walk. The child may appear normal during the first few months, but with time, they rapidly lose the ability to use their arms and limbs. There is no cure, but speech therapy, nutritional support, and physiotherapy helps.
