The Assignment is to read Martin Luther King’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail and to attempt a rhetoric analysis on the article. part of the prompt is to reveal why this letter is a timeless piece. The way I went about doing this was writing about the Aristotelian features, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos since it was an important lesson in my course. Secondly, I brought in another article as a source from 2020 and showed how it also used the features. After some feedback, I don’t think the essay that I wrote fits with the prompt.
Here is the prompt, “Having read and considered MLK’s letter in its historical and political context, do you think that its reputation for being a timeless document is because it has certain elements in it that are relatable to events happening nowadays? Attempt a rhetorical analysis of both rhetorical and thematic features explaining their contemporary significance.”
I believe the reason that it doesn’t fit with the original prompt is that I simply took an article from today and made the impression that Dr. King set the standards of using these features.
for the essay to be submitted it is required to be 4-5 pages long and it must be in MLA format (no title page, the title goes above the first line) and have at least 3 sources from the Gale in Context Opposing viewpoints database.in the attached files I will provide my essay so far and the Letter from a Birmingham Jail that we were provided
