Work through SW online tutorials, produce a design

The purpose of this component of manufacturing technology is to become familiar with Solidworks, a standard, widely used, Computer Aided Design system that you will continue to use in the later years of your degree. This is largely a self-learning component of the course, you are expected to work through the SW online tutorials, then produce a design of your own to submit for assessment. The demonstrators will give you guidance on working through the tutorials and on developing your design, but will not provide any formal teaching. The steps you should follow, together with hints and suggestions, are below. 1 Download Solidworks to your PC or Mac following the directions provided in the announcements on the Manufacturing Technology canvas homepage, and in the document on the Solidworks page.
